What is the BAM makerspace?
An accessible, open, and safe space for the community to explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) skills and support entrepreneurship by making things and making connections
In the coming year, we have plans for events focused on Lego Robotics, Linux Computer Building, Raspberry Pi programming, Bike Repair, Seed Starting, and other topics. In our first three months (October-December 2019), we engaged with 263 participants in 33 activities.
Our events are supported and inspired by affinity groups, facilitated by volunteers and enabled by donations presently, but we recognize that sustained revenue and paid instructors will eventually be needed to sustain the programs.
Our key guiding principle is to enable transdisciplinary collaboration and intergenerational exchange to feed curiosity, support discovery, and encourage entrepreneurial development in the Bennington area.
